Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy. Licensed or license pending in the State of Illinois without previous disciplinary action in Illinois or other states. Current CPR card.

The Occupational Therapist 2 is responsible and accountable for providing examinations evaluations therapy diagnosis interventions and prognosis in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The Therapist 2 will share their knowledge base through: serving as a clinical instructor for students mentoring new staff and participating in community education activities. The therapist 2 will participate in performance improvement and program development activities

  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • If applicable must possess valid Illinois drivers license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (5 year MVR will be required).

    Experience:

    2 yrs of experience required.

    Responsibilities

    1. Perform Patient assessments with patients in a specific service area.

    1. Assign an Occupational Therapy treatment diagnosis.

    1. Establishes plan of care with objective measurable goals.

    1. Provides interventions supported by evidenced based practice in accordance to the established plan of care.

    1. Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.

    1. Plans for discharge.

    1. Communicates with patient family caregivers and members of team to promote maximum benefit of care.

    1. Provide patient care documentation that meets quality standards and supports ethical billing practice.

    1. Demonstrates ability to organize workload and manage time effectively.

    1. Maintains positive working relationship with patients and referral base.

    1. Demonstrates teamwork by routinely offering to help others or assisting others whenever needed.

    1. Demonstrates ability to handle difficult and/or stressful situations appropriately.

    1. Shares knowledge through service as a clinical instructor and mentoring new staff.

    1. Shares knowledge with department and community through participation with educational offerings.

    1. Performs other related work as required or requested.
