Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine offers a unique opportunity for an Imaging Data Coordinator to support the ADRC Consortium for Clarity in Alzheimers and Related Dementia Research Through Imaging (CLARiTI) study. This position will collaborate with the network of Alzheimers Disease Research Centers (ADRCs) which are spread across the country. The ADRCs have come together as a consortium to focus on a set of joint objectives that will propel the entire field. The consortium will use advanced brain imaging and fluid biomarkers to identify the multiple causes and their associated temporal characteristics that lead to eventual dementia. It is this additional disease burden that our consortium will bring to light by developing tools for more accurate diagnosis and staging of disease(s). The consortium headquartered at UW-Madison is funded by NIH and will bring resources at an unprecedented scale to the network of ADRCs.

This position will serve as the Research Imaging Data Coordinator responsible for overseeing the acquisition quality control and management of imaging data to support research activities for the CLARiTI study. The incumbent will ensure the accuracy consistency and compliance of research data while serving as a key resource for faculty staff students and collaborating study sites. The coordinator will provide technical expertise in imaging data handling database management programming and study documentation to facilitate high-quality research outcomes.

  • This position may require some work to be performed in-person onsite at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely at an offsite non-campus work location.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills for working with faculty staff students and research collaborators.

  • Strong knowledge of database management programming and data integration methods.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees data use by faculty staff and students to maintain compliance with applicable regulations standards and protocols
  • Provides research methodology database programming expertise and database management to support research
  • Collaborates with study teams and partners to ensure data is collected maintained and shared in accordance with protocol requirements

  • Designs develops codes and documents programs for integrating research data
  • Designs and distributes reports
  • Monitors research data acquisition and conversion and conducts research data quality control checks
  • Designs and develops a system of databases for research data in a format suitable for analysis
  • Provides solutions for networking hardware and software issues
  • Assesses faculty staff and student needs for research data retrieval and develops retrieval mechanisms

Compensation:

The starting salary for the position is $60000; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python for scripting data analysis and automation.

  • Experience with Docker containers for reproducible environments and workflow deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with imaging data (MRI PET or similar) quality control and research compliance requirements.

  • Experience with MATLAB for scientific computing and data processing.

  • Proficiency with structured programming languages such as C for developing and optimizing workflows.

  • Familiarity with Flywheel or similar imaging data platforms for data curation workflow management and integration.

Education:

Bachelors degree preferred; focus in biomedical engineering computer science data science neuroscience or related discipline preferred.
