Role Background

Were excited to be recruiting a Service Manager to lead our brand-new YiM: Connect service a truly connected model designed to make emotional wellbeing support for children young people and families (CYPF) more accessible inclusive and rooted in local communities.

YiM: Connect offers very early intervention for emerging emotional wellbeing needs through engaging group activities targeted 1:1 support and strong community connections with CYPF grassroots providers and system partners. Delivery is subcontracted to trusted local organisations creating a vibrant collaborative network that champions resilience and belonging.

In this role youll lead seamless integrated delivery across the programme manage and support subcontracted providers build strong relationships with key system partners and embed co-production at every level - ensuring CYPF voices shape what we do. Youll lead with creativity and compassion fostering collaboration across the system to deliver services that truly transform lives.

This opportunity is perfect for someone whos passionate about early help trauma-informed practice and building strong community connections that remove barriers to support. Working as part of our dedicated CYPF team youll champion relational approaches resilience-building and system-wide collaboration to make sure every CYPF finds the right help in the right place at the right time.

Role Purpose

As a Service Manager youll lead the mobilisation delivery and development of our emotional wellbeing and mental health services ensuring they run effectively and make a real difference. Youll manage a team of subcontracted providers ensuring they deliver high-quality trauma-informed support for the people we serve. With a focus on service performance engagement and innovation youll oversee operations build strong relationships with partners and ensure services meet all required standards. Your leadership will help create a positive supportive environment where both staff and service members can thrive.

Role Outcomes

  • Lead your team to deliver safe high-quality services ensuring they meet regulatory standards performance targets and deliver real impact in line with the quality assurance framework operational plan and organisation mission
  • Harness meaningful relationships with service members partners commissioners and stakeholders strengthening collaboration and ensuring your services meet local needs
  • Ensure robust operational and financial controls are in place including service risk assessment and safeguarding responsibilities which are closely monitored and meet auditing requirements
  • Drive data collection and analysis producing high quality reports to lead service developments
  • Supporting senior and executive leadership to identify new business development opportunities.
  • Lead the successful delivery of new and evolving projects ensuring they align with BDC Mind goals.
  • Lead your team to be high performing by fostering clear communication and taking a proactive problem-solving approach in alignment with our mission objectives policies and core values: Caring Always Working Together Supporting Everyone Enabling All and Continually Improving

  • Support the on-call rota to ensure all staff have access to support and guidance out of hours

  • Successfully complete all mandatory and role-specific training to ensure best practices in safeguarding data protection health and safety and mental health awareness
  • Adapt to evolving service needs by taking on additional responsibilities as required ensuring a cohesive and effective team approach

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to the post
  • Understanding of current issues faced by CYPF
  • Understanding of confidentiality information governance and data protection
  • Knowledge of the THRIVE Framework and evidence-based approaches to early help

Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Familiarity with commissioning and contract management processes

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of leading or managing people including performance oversight and development
  • Experience managing services or programmes in a multi-agency context
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and responding to safeguarding concerns
  • Experience of partnership working and building collaborative relationships
  • Experience engaging with youth voice or participatory governance

Desirable

  • Experience managing subcontracted delivery or partnership-based services
  • Experience in service mobilisation or transformation projects

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate inspire and influence stakeholders and partners
  • Excellent communication administration and organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills including use of differing systems databases Microsoft packages and Outlook
  • Ability to oversee performance quality assurance and compliance across multiple providers
  • Ability to read analyse and present quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to create work plans prioritise workload and manage competing demands
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to a consistently high standard

Desirable

  • Skilled in contract management quality assurance and performance monitoring
  • Ability to design and implement improvement plans based on data and feedback
