Firewall Engineer (Palo Alto)

Responsibilities

Dynamic Routing configuration and troubleshooting

Packet level review and analysis for troubleshooting and design

Rule design

NAT rule design

Firewall log and flow reviews using an observability platform observability dashboard creation a plus

Intrusion Detection & Prevention

Customer firewall rule add/modifications/changes

Noncompliant rule remediation

Firewall rule migration

Subject matter expert (SME) with a solid network security background and hands on experience with GlobalProtect VPN Prisma Access cloud and NGFWs

Experience in building migrating & supporting enterprise VPN platforms and systems for Desktop (macOS Windows) & Mobile (iOS Android) and/or SASE based solutions by test driving proof of concept and deployment of security solutions

Preferred Skills

Strong exp in network security engineering

Strong exp on Palo Alto FW engineering

Specialized Palo Alto engineer with hands on management design implementation and deployment experience

Enterprise experience designing implementing and troubleshooting VPN technologies (Palo Alto f5 BIGIP APM)

Practical knowledge on IPSec tunnels and encryption VPCs VRF TCP/IP OSI model IPv6 cloud based network security architecture VPN deployment strategies & migrations data traffic manipulation Proxy Load Balancers DNS / Route53

At least one Palo Alto certification

Python / Shell scripting

Ansible

Terraform
