Job Title:Temporary Registration Advisor

This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 9-months.

Job Summary:

Incoming first-year undergraduate students at CU Denver receive advising for their Fall 2026 classes from the University Advising team in the Office of Academic Achievement. Registration Advisors meet with incoming first-year students in-person and via Zoom to review degree requirements and enroll in classes for their first semester. Registration Advisors utilize various technologies and resources to assist students.

Registration Advisors work about 20 hours per week from mid-April to end of June. Paid training is provided and will occur in March and early April.

Key Responsibilities:

Attend onboarding and training sessions on advising practices technology tools degree planning tools and campus resources as well as University Advising mission vision processes and procedures

Review student materials to prepare for meetings

Meet with incoming first-year students

Introduce new students to degree planning tools and assist them with course registration

Record notes about student interactions in advising platform

Engage in phone campaigns with students

Work Location:

Hybrid this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule.

March and April hybrid training including some days on campus exact dates and times TBD

April-June Must be available to work about 20 hours per week; Typically working hours will be Mondays through Fridays between 8:00-5:00pm mountain time.

There may also be need for non-business hours work and Saturday commitments.

Work will be hybrid on-campus and via Zoom.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Bachelors Degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience advising tutoring teaching coaching and/or mentoring students

Strong understanding of the U.S. higher education system

Excellent organizational planning interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills

Ability to work independently and as a team member

Attention to detail

Ability to think on feet and pivot based on new information or a change in plans

A genuine interest and satisfaction in working with students especially first-generation diverse students

Ability to learn new software

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring range for this position has been established at: $20.00 to $22.00 / hour. The above hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training.

Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. Temporary employees are only eligible for sick leave benefits.
