Pay Rate: $30$32/hour

Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week Medical-Surgical contract at a large acute care teaching hospital in Rochester NY. This Magnet-recognized facility provides advanced medical services and a collaborative clinical environment.
The LPN will manage a dedicated patient assignment on a Medical-Surgical unit caring for patients with COPD exacerbations infections and acute medical or social recovery needs. This opportunity is open to both local professionals and first-time travelers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a dedicated patient assignment (typical ratios 1:56) under RN supervision
Perform vital signs pain assessments intake/output monitoring and oxygen administration (nasal cannula)
Administer medications via oral IM SQ NG/G-tube routes and IV therapy using infusion pumps
Conduct 12-lead EKGs blood glucose monitoring Foley catheter insertions (male/female) and telemetry monitoring
Perform basic wound care dressing changes and manage JP/Hemovac drains
Document patient care accurately using EPIC
Communicate patient status changes promptly to RNs and providers
Float to other units within scope of practice as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Active New York State LPN License (pending licenses not accepted)
BLS Certification (AHA required)
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (within the past 2 years)
Ability to manage an independent patient assignment
Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
Availability to work every other weekend and every other holiday
