At Anglian Water were driving digital transformation to deliver smarter more sustainable solutions. As a Data Platform Architect within our Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) team youll play a critical role in defining and governing the architecture of our core data and analytics platforms; spanning Microsoft Azure Data Bricks SAP Datasphere and MQTT-based time series environments. This role ensures that these platforms are secure reliable and strategically aligned while enabling data-led business transformation through clear standards patterns and frameworks.

What you will be doing

• Define and maintain data platform architecture with blueprints aligned to enterprise strategy and target architectures with a strong focus on data interoperability and governance.

• Embed robust governance in line with cyber security data governance and service operations policies.

• Design and maintain a cohesive data architecture ensuring platform spaces are structured to support suitable data integration (acquire) data product creation and lineage tracking (organise) and scalable analytics workflows.

• Design integration and interoperability patterns that connect platforms and enable data sharing across IT and OT environments.

• Enable self-service adoption through reusable frameworks templates and reference architecturesempowering data analysts engineers and citizen developers.

• Own data technology strategy roadmap and lifecycle managementplanning upgrades replacements and reducing technical debt for data-centric platforms.

• Monitor and improve platform health performance and observability consolidating technologies where appropriate to support data quality and analytics.

• Champion Health & Safety standards and continuous improvement.

What does it take to be a Technology Architect (Data)

• Significant experience architecting and governing enterprise-scale technology platforms ideally with data and analytics components.

• Deep knowledge in data and integration technology domains

• Strong experience in integration design and interoperability across multiple technologies including data pipelines and APIs.

• Proven ability to embed governance compliance and data management in data platform operations.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts.

• Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent professional experience; relevant certifications desirable.
