Position Overview
FCI Atlanta is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide direct patient care services to the male inmate population in multiple clinical settings within the institution.
Schedule:
- Sunday Saturday
- Variable shifts across a 24-hour period
- 1 session 1 hour
- Average 40 sessions per week per nurse
- 30-minute unpaid lunch per shift
Clinical Settings:
- Health Services Unit
- Special Housing Unit (SHU)
- Camp Medical Clinic
- Telemedicine Unit
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care (vital signs assessments documentation)
- Administer medications and vaccinations
- Perform phlebotomy urinalysis EKGs and point-of-care testing
- Assist providers during sick call emergencies and minor procedures
- Triage urgent care cases
- Maintain accurate documentation in BEMR
- Assist with infection control chronic care and discharge planning
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards
Supplies & Attire:
- Medical supplies and equipment provided
- Contractor must provide a white lab coat/smock
- Professional attire required
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current unrestricted RN license
- BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Minimum 6 months of experience preferred
- Ability to pass drug screening and background investigation
