We have an exciting opportunity for aRegistered Nurseto join our friendly and motivated team of staff.
This is afull timerole at 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
The pre-assessment team is a busy and dynamic specialist team of nurses who assess patients fitness for surgery and anaesthesia at the Harbour Hospital as well as planning for a safe and smooth admission to discharge process for patients with a varying degree of clinical dependencies. As a registered nurse you will work autonomously in a face to face clinic setting taking a detailed medical and social history from patients arranging pre-operative testing where appropriate review clinical results and records and document plans of care for admission. There is a strong focus on MDT communication to ensure a smooth surgical pathway.
This is an exciting role with plenty of opportunity for professional development. Applicants will need to possess strong communication skills an enquisitive mind and a positive approach to problem-solving. Previous experience in pre-assessment surgical nursing or clinic work is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided including the Circle Health Pre-Admission course for Registered Nurses. The Pre-Assessment Department currently work weekdays between 8 and 4 although some flexibility is required to cover occasional busy periods when late or weekend clinics may be initiated.
