Adjunct Faculty Position

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in St. Johns College is seeking candidates for an adjunct faculty position to teach introductory courses in mathematics and machine learning.

Responsibilities

Once assigned a course or courses adjunct faculty are expected to:

• Prepare and distribute a course outline to studentsin accordance withthe course syllabus at the start of the semester.
• Develop instructional materials (lectures readings assignments exams projects etc.) that will achieve the learning outcomes asstatedin the course syllabus.
• Evaluate student performance throughout the semester and provide periodic and constructive feedback to students in a reasonable amount of time.
• Be available to engage with students outside the classroom by email or face-to-face communication.
• Evaluate student performance and post final grades for each student within thetimeframerequired by the Provosts Office and be available for two weeks after the semester concludes to discuss final grades with students by email.
• Promptly respond to requests for information before during and after the course as required by the DepartmentChair and the St. Johns College Deans Office.

Qualifications

A masters degree or higher in the discipline or a related field isrequired.
