Position: Registered Nurse

Location: Pediatric Emergency Department

Schedule: 36 Hours (Evening/Nights / Every Other Weekend)

ABOUT THE PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER:

Our family-centered 14-bed Pediatric Emergency Department is one of the largest dedicated Pediatric Emergency Departments in Boston. As a Magnet recognized organization our PALS and TNCC certified pediatric trauma nursing team is equipped to provide comprehensive and complex care to children of all ages. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to serving diverse cultures and providing an inclusive conscientious and open place to work while reflecting the communities we serve.


POSITION SUMMARY:

As an RN in the Pedi Emergency Department you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver nursing care including assessing diagnosing planning intervening evaluating and educating patients

  • Communicate with various health care team members patients and their families

  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues

  • Update and manage patient records

  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information

  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCs nursing organization

  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or have the ability to obtain MA RN licensure

  • 1 years of Pediatric RN experience required

  • TNCC required or ability to obtain it by start date

  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units

  • Nursing degree: Diploma ASN or BSN (preferred) Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • Fluency in another language a plus

NursingED - Emergency Dept (Adult or Pedi)

Compensation Range:

$38.05- $75.33

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
