About the Role

We areseekinga proactiveenthusiasticand collaborative People Manager to join ourteam in Boston MA.

Overrecent years we havefocused onestablishing growing and upscaling our People operations in the USand we arenowlooking for adedicatedUS People Managerwho will enjoy managingUSand CanadaPeople operationsin a fast-movingand high-growth setting.

Collaborating closely with our global People team whomanage People operationsacross our other regionsyou willbe responsible forthe successful implementation localizationand operationof HR processesand practicesin Boston New YorkVancouverand any other future locations in the abreast of wider People trends in the industry andremainingpassionate about high-quality delivery you will act as a trusted adviser to colleagues across the businessand should act with integrity and in a way that upholds trust and confidence in our People function.

The responsibilities for the role are as follows:

  • ManagesallUSand CanadaPeopleprocessesto ensure theyrunsuccessfullycompliantlyand efficiently; including but not limited to new starters leavers promotionsemployee engagement surveysbenefitsprocessingand sickness/absencemanagement
  • Managesa wide range ofPeople projects forboth the US/Canadaand other global that theAmericas DirectorHead of People and other key stakeholdersremaininformed about the progress of projects and can input whererequired
  • Provides tailoredrobustand responsive adviceand employee relationsexpertiseto our US-based colleagues covering topics such as performance managementcareerdevelopment absence managementwellbeingand workplace conduct. Recognizes when to escalate issues to the Head of Peopleandseek input from external counsel
  • Autonomously produces appropriately written letters on a wide range of HR matters including conducting the research necessary to advise on the contents of such letters ensuring they are aligned with statutory regulations and company policy and responsibility for final sign-off
  • Leadsprocess improvement initiatives to increasethe efficiencywith which HR administration can be completed whilstmaintaininga high-quality technology and AI where applicable
  • Actively staysabreast of changes to the HR/wider employment landscapeincluding societal and political factors and ensures this translates to the actions ofthe US and global People teams
  • Proactively feeds back trends and information to theAmericas DirectorHead of People US OperationsManagerandothermembers of the Executive Team where applicable supporting the shaping of the overall people and company strategy
  • Maintains strong relationships with external stakeholders such as our benefits broker andlegalcounsel
  • Supportsthe development ofour Boston-based People Administrator including providing line managementin due course. Maintains responsibility for theteam/theirline reports satisfaction and wellbeing workload management and enhancestheir development through regular contact the provision of ongoing constructive feedback and the conduct of performance reviews

Our standard working week is40hours Monday to Friday however we can also consider applicants looking for part-time hours of24 hours per week.

Essentialrequirements for the role are:

  • At least 2-3 years experience in a People/HR Manager rolein the US
  • Bachelors degree and relevant HR qualifications such as SHRM certification
  • Strong knowledge of US employment law and HR best practice; experience inMassachusettsor New York desirable
  • Extensive experience ofmanaging a suite of HR processes across theentireemployee lifecycle
  • Proven capability in employee relations witha track recordof delivering high-quality andaccurateHR adviceto colleagues at varying levels of seniority
  • Demonstrable experience of leadingandmanaging HRprojects including mapping out project planstimelinesand resource and successfully executingall steps through to completion. Exerciseshigh levelsof autonomy whilst recognising the need to collaborate atappropriate timepointswith key stakeholders
  • Collaborative style of working and highly communicative with key stakeholders and managers
  • Excellent written communication skills and numerical/financial literacy
  • Courage to challenge speak up when necessaryand influence othersalwayscarefully considering how best to protect the needs of the company
