Sakonnet Early Learning Center a trusted early childhood program serving Tiverton for over 40 years is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Pre-K Assistant Teacher. This is a chance to join a supportive team help shape young minds and make a real impact on childrens early learning experiences.
Partner with a Lead Teacher to support a play-based hands-on classroom for Pre-K children (ages 45). Youll help foster curiosity creativity and kindness while supporting childrens social-emotional growth kindergarten readiness and cognitive development.
- Assist with daily classroom instruction and hands-on activities including literacy math STEAM sensory play art and science
- Help implement curriculum using Creative Curriculum and thematic lesson plans
- Set up learning centers prepare materials and maintain smooth daily routines
- Support childrens social-emotional development problem-solving and cooperative play
- Observe and document developmental milestones for portfolios and parent updates
- Communicate effectively with families using our Parent Engagement App (training provided)
- Ensure classroom health safety and sanitation following RIDHS regulations
- Supervise children indoors and outdoors maintaining proper ratios and safety standards
- Collaborate with teaching staff and float between classrooms as needed
- Participate in professional development staff meetings and ongoing training
- High school diploma or GED required; CDA RIELDS coursework or ECE training preferred
- Experience working with young children in preschool childcare camp or similar settings
- Warm patient dependable and enthusiastic about learning through play
- Strong communication teamwork and organizational skills
- Familiarity with digital parent engagement tools is a plus
- CPR/First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain
