The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is looking to hire an Accreditation and Evidence Manager in our Law Enforcement Division!
The Accreditation Manager is responsible for the planning development and management of a program to obtain initial accreditation and re-accreditation through theVirginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC)and in the future national accreditation status. Determine eligibility and feasibility of a grants program. Development training and management of internal agency policies (General Orders) to ensure compliance with federal state and local laws ordinances and accreditation standards. Serve as law enforcement liaison for legislative proposals and changes. Other duties will include evidence and property management records retention and other tasks as assigned. This position will report directly to the Training & Standards Captain. The Accreditation Manager plays a critical role in fostering professional development improving operational readiness and supporting the DMVs mission of safeguarding lives and serving the motoring public.

Minimum Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of and experience with complex criminal and administrative investigations law enforcement functions and state and federal criminal laws.
Experience in the administration of national or state accreditation programs.
Considerable and effective knowledge of computer systems and automated databases to include the Microsoft Office suite and/or PowerDMS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare analyze and review comprehensive reports.
Use of various software packages and web portals such as IACP Net the Virginia Accreditation Network and the DCJS Model Policy portal.
Ability to work independently make sound decisions set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
Additional Considerations
Certification as an accreditation manager through a recognized organization. Skilled in collaborating with law enforcement partners and stakeholders and ensuring the regional staff is up to date on Fusion Center communications regional crime trends and all the latest intelligence resources available.
Certification as an accreditation assessor through the Virginia Law Enforcement Accreditation Coalition (VALEAC).
Degree in Criminal Justice Business Administration or related field.
