Norfolk Elementary SchoolsNorfolk MassachusettsTitle:ABA (Applied Behavior Analyst) TechnicianPosition:The ABA Technician will be employed to support and assist in the specialized daily instructional and physical needs of Special Education :Associates Degree required. College level training in education and/or childcare is highly desirable. Reports to:Special Education and Classroom TeachersWork Year:10-month school year position 182 DaysSpecific Duties1. Primary responsibility is to assist special education students with low cognitive ability and/or ASD and/or behavioral issues (ABA) and/or American Sign Language (ASL) needs and significant physical student specific guidelines for:Complete discrete trails; implement behavior plans and data collection as determined by team or specialized to physical needs of student(s) including positioning lifting and self-help individual students with personal care such as toileting issues and feeding or teaching of utensil the Norfolk Public Schools Restraint using home/school communication logs - use format that was agreed upon with supervision of the Special Education and Classroom Teacher(s):Deliver /modify lessons and classroom activities in accordance with the students current communication between resource and regular education the teachers instruction by assisting in planning modifying and implementing curriculum instruction and assessment according to the specific needs of the the teacher in creating and maintaining an instructional environment that is conducive to appropriate student behaviors by assisting with discipline motivation and behavior behavior management procedures and prescribed consequences for student with individual students or small groups of students on prescribed educational specials with students as determined by TEAM or specialized professionalism in the school confidentialityWork collaboratively among the school appropriate channels for resolving concerns by seeing the classroom teacher or childs in professional development programsAssist in maintaining classroom areas as assigned duties such as bus duty lunch and/or recess responsible on-time professional other duties as assigned.
