About the opportunity

Westgold are ramping up and therefore bringing in new Longhole rigs to most of our sites. We are sourcing highly experiencedLonghole drillerswho can operator Sandvik boom rigs and the odd horseshoe. Various sites an d rosters are on offer along with a competitive rate allowances bonus.

The role includes

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor the Long Hole Driller will be a part of the production mining team responsible for drilling production blast holes prior to charging and blasting operations. Drillers also carry out other related duties as directed by the Mine Supervisor.

  • Ability to Drill and bolt inclines declines and ore drives.
  • Able to set up and operate long hole drill to produce a designated pattern of blasting holes.
  • Diagnose and take appropriate action to manage drill problems and advise appropriate personnel.
  • Remove drill cuttings and sludge to ensure drill hole remains clean.

What do I need

  • Proven experience operating SANDVIK 432i Solo Boom and Horseshoe rigs
  • A minimum of 5 years underground mining experience.
  • Must have previous experience as a Loader Operator and Development Charge Up Operator.
  • C Class Manual license.
  • Flexible working style work independently and as part of a team.
  • Decision-making driven by priorities and a commitment to continuous enhancement.
