THE ROLE

As a Sustainability & Environmental Intern for the summer of 2026 you have the opportunity to assist the Environmental & Sustainability team within the corporation.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Project #1: Assist with updating Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission data. Using Excel Power BI and Sharepoint assist with collecting and confirming emission data across the organization and develop a method to collect the data more efficiently while documenting the data collection process.
  • Project #2: Sustainability Disclosures: Assist in completing Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) for inclusion on the S&P Global Sustainability Portal Climate Disclosure Protocal (CDP) Fitwel Green Masters and Ecovadis submittals. Assist with collecting stories and articles for inclusion in the 2026 Sustainability Report.
  • Project #3: Supplier Sustainability Participation: Using AI tools assist with assessing the current state of select suppliers on their sustainability journey. Create a database of supplier information centered around disclosures sustainability goals measurement and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and other metrics.
  • Project #4:Assistance in the development of a Climate Transition Plan: Oshkosh is developing a detailed action plan that outlines how the organization will address its operations and assets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Climate transition plans are driven by requirements and regulations stakeholder interest in transparency and to meet Oshkoshs public commitments and achieve its GHG reduction targets. The Intern will research published climate transition plans from other organizations and consider what is applicable to our addition analyze utility company commitments to green the grid and the reduction of emissions over what period they have made public commitments to achieve.
  • Project #5: Support the creation of a Quantitative Climate Risk Assessment: A quantitative climate risk assessment is used by organizations to identify climate-related vulnerabilities and prioritize adaptation measures. The assessment will leverage numerical data to evaluate the potential impacts of climate change on a specific area providing a measurable estimate of the likelihood and severity of current and future climate risks. The Intern using third party tools (OS-Climate World Resources Institute IPCC etc.) will review Oshkosh manufacturing locations and characteristics of assets or infrastructure potentially affected by climate hazards. Project will result in Oshkosh being able to advance public disclosures and meet regulatory requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent working towards a degree in Environmental Engineering Environmental Science Sustainability Management or related field. Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh WI for the duration of the internship.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

Previous intern experience in a manufacturing or other business environment. Knowledge of sustainability metrics and reporting platforms.

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $37.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
