Job Summary: The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II supports diagnostic and interventional cardiac and electrophysiology procedures by scrubbing monitoring and assisting physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures. This role requires strong technical expertise hemodynamic knowledge and the ability to function effectively in a high-volume team-based Cath Lab environment.
Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures including PCI and peripheral interventions.
- Set up sterile tables and ensure appropriate supplies and equipment are available for procedures.
- Monitor patients cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic data during procedures and respond appropriately to changes.
- Record procedural data hemodynamic measurements and catheterization events in the system.
- Assist with orientation and training of staff as assigned and support departmental initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with safety quality and professional standards in the Cath Lab and EP environments.
Requirements
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification Required
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab scrubbing experience Required including:
- Diagnostic catheterizations
- Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
- Impella devices
- Balloon pumps
- Peripheral diagnostic interventions
- BLS and ACLS certifications Required
- Structural Heart experience Preferred
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience Preferred
- Interventional Radiology (IR) experience Preferred
- Experience working in both Cath Lab and EP departments
- Ability to work in a four-person procedural team
- Willingness to scrub and set up tables for procedures
- Experience with Merge Hemo and Merge Cardio systems
- Availability for scheduled call including:
- One weekend call per month (Friday Monday)
- 1 2 call days per week
- Must be available to work holidays
- No block scheduling permitted
- No more than one (1) week of requested time off (RTO)
- Team-first mentality with flexibility to assist as needed
- Facility has no fellowship program
- Ability to support a department with three labs performing 12 20 cases per day
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Graduation from an accredited Allied Health program (e.g. Cardiovascular Technology Radiologic Technology Respiratory Therapy Exercise Science Cardiac/Vascular Sonography or equivalent experience)
