Job Summary:
The Senior Business Communications Specialist is responsible for leading business communications projects and producing a wide range of content for various digital communication channels. This role requires a strong understanding of content management principles excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to create audience-appropriate technical documentation and training materials.
Location:Washington District of Columbia United States
Responsibilities:
- Lead business communications projects.
- Produce content for Windows and iOS digital communication channels such as websites digital displays video print media social media and mobile applications.
- Create and edit training promotional professional and technical content (e.g. training videos pamphlets articles one-pagers executive summaries website content charters instruction sets SOPs user guides white papers).
- Use video editing and production software.
- Prepare and edit technical guidance (e.g. policies and procedures) best practices briefings operations and maintenance manuals software and system documentation API documentation developer tutorials and other materials as needed.
- Collaborate with and coordinate the efforts of subject matter experts and multiple technical contributors to produce content.
- Produce project documentation.
- Produce and apply style guides and design guidelines to ensure a consistent presentation of information.
- Proofread large technical documents for spelling grammar usage textual errors and appropriate tone.
- Conduct technical research as needed to produce content.
- Translate complex concepts into useable audience-appropriate text and graphics.
- Provide general desktop support (i.e. resolving problems with software hardware configurations etc.) including workstations and peripherals.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 7 years of technical writing experience.
- Experience producing technical documentation for multiple platforms according to software development lifecycles (SDLCs) including DevOps Agile Lean Iterative or Waterfall.
- Excellent understanding of content management principles and practices.
- Experience applying content management principles and training others.
- Ability to manage content using collaboration platforms.
- Excellent understanding of business communications principles.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite SharePoint Online and Office 365.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Knowledge of Federal Reserve Board principles and practices.
- Understanding of communications and content creation procedures.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of SharePoint content administration.
