Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver comprehensive engaging and curriculum-compliant lesson plans for Social Science (History Geography Civics and Economics) for Grades 8 and 9.
Implement student-centered teaching methodologies including project-based learning group discussions and interactive activities.
Assess student learning through regular quizzes assignments projects and examinations providing timely and constructive feedback.
Maintain accurate records of student progress attendance and academic performance.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and department heads to align teaching strategies with school-wide academic goals.
Utilize digital tools and educational technology to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.
Participate in staff meetings professional development sessions and school events.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
Contribute to the development and improvement of the Social Science curriculum and assessment frameworks.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Social Sciences Education or a related field; postgraduate qualification (MA) preferred.
Valid teaching certification (e.g. . NCTE-approved qualification) required.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of teaching experience in a school setting preferably in Grades 89.
Strong command of English communication skills for instruction assessment and parent interaction.
Proven ability to create dynamic student-focused lesson plans and deliver them effectively.
Demonstrated experience in classroom management and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Proficiency in using digital learning platforms and tools (e.g. Google Classroom MS Office LMS).
Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaborative teamwork.
Ability to work in a fast-paced results-driven academic environment.
