Analytica & Modelling Solutions Specialist - Part time / 20 Hours
A multifaceted role to lead the scoping design and delivery of customer-facing Vantage modelling work and custom analysis including (but not limited to) Budget Impact Models Simulations Data Reports & Dashboards including assisting in sales and account management activities.
Alongside Product Management the postholder will lead the development and implementation of analytical and modelling solutions that describe complex medical processes to understand and evaluate the strategic positions of treatments and demonstrate the value of interventions beyond efficacy to elucidate the economic and operational consequences associated with the given healthcare intervention.
The role will also involve the analysis of healthcare data from a wide range of data sets to support the solutions as well as the interpretation of complex data reports and translation into business cases.
In addition the role will support pre-sales activities for new clients interested in custom data analysis and modelling solutions as well as identify opportunities for upgrades with existing clients and support Account Managers in presenting these opportunities.
Furthermore this role in partnership with Customer Success will support in all aspects of training for new clients and internal stakeholders.
The role will require flexibility and adaptability excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deliver and maintain standards in response to changing priorities.
The role is both an operational and strategic one and requires the ability to form close working relationships with key internal teams and senior stakeholders as well as suppliers and external clients.
Responsibilities:
- The product owner for all modelling products including the scoping design development and maintenance of solutions.
- Work directly with relevant roles in client organisations to scope data and modelling projects including instructions specifications codes and other research requirements thus translating the client need to a scoping document with clear deliverables.
- Develop excel-based models data reports and dashboards business cases executive summaries training material and user guides against client requirements on time and to the highest quality.
- Map out pathways based on research of NICE guidance publications by medical societies and KOLs in the field as well as literature reviews with emphasis on extracting data pertinent to health economic evaluations and cost-effectiveness analyses.
- Oversee the implementation of simulation models (e.g. discrete event simulation) and potentially other decision-analytic models (e.g. Markov individual state-transition survival partition) by a third-party provider or other internal teams.
- Develop visual concepts and user interface designs for projects and ensure their usability by working closely with in-house designers testers as well as client teams.
- Support Account Management/Customer Success in delivering training and support to clients working with them to optimise and enhance our solutions to fit their needs and possibly exceed expectations.
- Assist in the sales proposal process including providing the sales team with product insights and attending pre-sales client-facing meetings.
- Support Product Management in questions related to product roadmap and strategic direction of travel for the Vantage Modelling solutions as well as software/platform/vendor selection management operation and maintenance.
- Subject Matter Expert within the team mentoring and coaching the other members of the team as part of a continuous development cycle.
Required Skill & Experience:
- Degree qualified (Health Economics/Medical Statistics/Public Health or other degree involving numerical analysis and/or health research).
- Extensive client facing experience within a pre-sales support/consultancy environment.
- Excellent knowledge in mathematical modeling and optimization and experience in one of the standard discrete event simulation tools (Anylogic Simul8 Arena).
- Proven experience in eliciting a need from clients and clearly articulating this into detailed requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing/documentation skills to a publication standard.
- Solid coding experience (SQL or Python).
- Experience in analysing data to draw relevant conclusions and creating detailed validated accurate data reports and summaries.
- Knowledge of administrative healthcare datasets particularly in the UK (e.g. HES CPRD PHE datasets) and its merits and limitations to economic modelling.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel (VBA highly beneficial).
- Knowledge and experience in executing projects or creating technology and software in healthcare
- Experience and good appreciation of insight-driven design both qualitative and quantitative.
- Ability to identify and prioritise business needs set and deliver outstanding results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
