Augusta Health is Investing in our Workforce by offering a new Cardiovascular Technologist Scholar program. This new program is open to current Augusta Health EMTs or Paramedics who will participate in 12-months of full time work-based training. Upon completion of the program scholars take the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) exam through (CCI) and then transition to a Cardiovascular Tech position in our Cath Lab.
The Cardiovascular Technologist Trainee provides a safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing cardiac procedures through assisting in the delivery of patient care during cardiac procedures under the supervision of a certified technologist. The intent of the Cardiovascular Technologist Trainee role is to progress satisfactorily toward RCIS Certification while participating in continuous learning opportunities to gain competence in invasive cardiovascular technology by assisting providers during invasive procedures and contributing to unit-based activities that promote a positive professional work environment. The Cardiovascular Technologist Trainee is expected to adhere to the departments policies and procedures in delivering patient care with essential information communicated through both documentation and verbal interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A graduate of one of the following certificate or degree granting programs: EMT or Paramedic.
- Active licensure or certification corresponding to the specific qualifying degree or certification program completed to meet the positions education requirement.
- RCIS certification within one (1) year of hire (full-time).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- A graduate of one of the following certificate or degree granting programs: EMT and/or Paramedic
- Active licensure or certification corresponding to the specific qualifying degree or certification program completed to meet the positions education requirement.
- RCIS certification within one (1) year of hire (full-time).
