Summary/Objective
Create a flexible classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students parents and staff; and promote social physical and intellectual development through subject matter and skills that support student success. Assist students in earning industry-recognized certifications and gaining work-based learning opportunities in the field of Construction Trades.
Essential Functions

- Respond to all internal and external customers as it relates to job in a prompt efficient friendly and patient manner
- Teach district approved curriculum as specified in the Arizona Standards
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the students involved
- Guide learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and (in harmony with the goals) establish clear objectives for all lessons units and projects
- Communicate regularly with parents by means of newsletters notes phone calls conferences etc.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment
- Evaluate students academic and social growth keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports
- Partner with local businesses to ensure the curriculum is relevant and to create real-world learning opportunities for students such as internships or field trips.
- Help students with career planning decision-making and connecting their skills to potential job opportunities.
- Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies regulations and rules
- Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner
- Teach students how to use tools and equipment safely and demonstrate specific skills related to a trade or occupation.
- Evaluate student learning through assignments projects and exams and provide constructive feedback.
- Train students to pass industry certifications required for their chosen career path

- Regularly required to remain stationary move about and reach
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt part-time position (1-2 class periods per day) contracted for 148 days from July through May.
Required Education and Experience
CTE Teacher Certification: Industrial and Emerging Technology
Preferred Education and Experience
Teaching experience in a public school district.
Required Certifications/Licenses
Teaching certification issued by the Arizona Department of Education appropriate to the teaching assignment.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain an IVP a IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona
Department of Public Safety.
