Transport Operator

In a nutshell

Picnic is looking for a Transport Operator who acts as the key link between internal teams (distribution centers fulfilment centers and hubs) and external partners (suppliers and carriers). You monitor daily operations closely respond quickly to challenges and ensure groceries are delivered on time and efficiently within our just-in-time supply chain. By understanding logistics flows volumes and time sensitivity you help build an efficient network while adapting to forecasting models. Alongside daily planning you lead improvement projects to increase fill rates reduce empty kilometers analyze root causes and implement long-term operational improvements.

Tricks of the trade

• Supply Chain Coordination: Oversee and optimize a specific part of Picnics logistics network

• Supplier & Carrier Management: Maintain and monitor operational relationships with suppliers and transport partners

• Transport Planning: Manage and adjust daily transport schedules ensuring smooth day-to-day operations

• Process Improvement: Design implement and run logistics improvement projects

• Safety & Compliance: Improve and safeguard working conditions for Picnic employees and contracted truck drivers

• Operational Presence: Work from the Amsterdam Head Office or Utrecht warehouse with regular visits to suppliers and other warehouses

Were looking for

• Preferably a finished MBO or HBO degree

• 0-6 years of experience preferably in the field of Supply Chain Management Logistics or similar

• Fluent in both Dutch and English

• You are stress resistant and like to work in a high pace environment

• Talent for planning: you turn its not possible into its on the way

• Creative and pragmatic: you find original solutions for things that need to be fixed now

• Responsible: you can work independently and you have a confident personality

• Great communicator: you possess the capability to articulate problems and projects to all stakeholders

• Youre available full time and flexible in terms of working hours. We work with two different shifts: one shift starts at 06:00 in the morning the other one at 13:30 in the afternoon
