Job Summary

The Sales Go-To-Market (SGTM) organization sits squarely between the product teams who make our ad solutions and the field teams who sell it. Given this teams unique position within the Ads org the SGTM organization is often called upon to help drive GTM strategy and organizational change when doing so results in clear benefits for our customers.

As the Principal Video Strategy Lead for Japan you will drive the development and adoption of video advertising solutions within our Large Customer Sales teams. This role combines strategic leadership in video advertising with hands-on execution requiring deep expertise in both video and linear TV buying planning and sales. The candidate will work with product account and partner teams to create innovative advertising experiences develop scalable solutions and drive meaningful engagement with audiences through Amazons comprehensive ad offerings including sponsored content premium video and custom ads. This position demands strong negotiation skills C-Suite communication abilities and a thorough understanding of the video landscape while leveraging Amazons insights and flexible pricing models to deliver measurable outcomes for brands and agencies.

Key job responsibilities
The Principal Video Strategy Lead will work to:
1) Develop and scale video GTM strategies;
2) Implement tailored industry strategies; and
3) Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop narratives that differentiate Amazon Ads unique offerings tied to customer objectives and business outcomes.

About the team
Our team is responsible for setting goals and developing GTM (Go-To-Market) strategies for advertising solutions while also gathering feedback from Japanese advertisers to inform product development.

- 7 years of experience in influencing global product development teams from a non-HQ subsidiary
- 7 years of experience in developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- 7 years of developing negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 7 years of experience in leading complex problem-solving initiatives while effectively engaging and managing multiple stakeholders across various organizational levels.
- Knowledge of digital media (e.g. premium digital video programmatic media performance advertising)
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience in working with Data & AI related technologies including but not limited to AI/ML GenAI Analytics Database and/or Storage experience
- Business level of written and verbal communication skills in English and verbal business communication skills in Japanese.
- Bachelors degree

- Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments or as a practice leader or business unit owner
- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations
- Experience in solving problems with technology in various industries.
