Job Summary

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Leonardtown MD
Job Duration: 8 weeks with possible extension
Shift Timing: Monday Friday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM; Saturdays every third week. When working Saturday the preceding Thursday is off.

Job Description

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will provide support in both front and back office operations. Responsibilities include greeting and rooming patients scheduling appointments answering phones taking vital signs drawing blood administering vaccines performing phlebotomy and providing additional clinical support as needed.

A key component of this role is maintaining a collaborative and professional relationship with all staff members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience including phlebotomy (in addition to externship experience)
Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
Occupational Health experience preferred
Proficiency in phlebotomy/venipuncture and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems required
Strong attention to detail excellent communication skills and computer proficiency
Interest in health education and outreach and a commitment to making a positive impact

Required Skills

Front and back office clinical experience
Phlebotomy and venipuncture
EKG and point-of-care (POC) testing
Scheduling and rooming patients
Taking vitals
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
