Job Summary

The Leidos Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) Team supporting the NASA Johnson Space Center is seeking top scientists engineers technologists and mission professionals to join a multidisciplinary team supporting human health performance and mission success in some of the most complex operational environments in the world. Our work directly enables safe effective and sustainable human spaceflight and high-risk operations through the integration of science engineering and real-time mission support.

The Leidos team on HHPC provides end-to-end human health and performance support for government and commercial spaceflight missions. We support our customers by integrating biomedical research operational medicine human systems engineering data and analytics and mission operations into a cohesive mission-ready capability.

Our HHPC work spans research development operational execution and long-term sustainment supporting activities from pre-mission planning through real-time operations and post-mission analysis. Work is conducted in a highly regulated safety-critical environment that requires technical rigor disciplined execution and close collaboration with customer stakeholders and mission partners.

Leidos specialized Areas of Support

The program delivers services across the following specialized domains:

  • Biomedical Research Operations
    Planning executing and sustaining human health and performance research across ground analog and flight environments including protocol development study execution data collection and compliance.
  • Space Food Systems
    Development testing qualification and operational support of space food systems to ensure nutritional adequacy safety crew acceptance and long-duration mission viability.
  • Human Systems Integration (HSI)
    Integration of human performance habitability workload and usability considerations into system design mission operations and operational requirements to optimize crew safety and effectiveness.
  • Engineering
    Systems biomedical and operations engineering supporting hardware software and mission systems across the full lifecycle from concept through sustainment.
  • IT Data and Analytics
    Design operation and sustainment of secure information systems data pipelines analytics platforms and digital tools that enable research operations and decision-making.
  • Space Radiation
    Research modeling monitoring and operational support related to radiation exposure risk assessment and mitigation strategies for crewed missions.

We are looking for professionals who are mission-driven technically strong and comfortable operating at the intersection of science engineering and operations. Depending on your background and specialty you may:

  • Execute and support human health and performance research in laboratory analog or operational environments
  • Develop test and sustain systems and processes that directly support crewed missions
  • Translate research findings into operational requirements and mission-ready capabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams customer stakeholders and mission partners
  • Support real-time or near-real-time operations in a safety-critical environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of technical processes tools and capabilities

Roles range from early-career contributors to senior technical leaders with opportunities to work on high-visibility mission-impacting efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as engineering physical sciences life sciences computer science or a related discipline. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A Masters degree or PhD may be considered work experience.
  • Experience working in a technical research engineering or operational environment
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a regulated compliance-driven environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a relevant discipline
  • Experience supporting aerospace spaceflight biomedical research defense or other safety-critical programs
  • Familiarity with human health and performance human factors systems engineering or mission operations
  • Experience with data systems analytics modeling or simulation
  • Prior experience working with government customers or on large complex contracts
  • Prior experience working on HHPC or its predecessors
