Job Summary
Leidos is seeking a Chemist to provide synthesis characterization and analysis of energetic materials support to DEVCOM Armaments Center in Picatinny Arsenal NJ.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and execute synthesis and characterization of novel energetic materials and precursor materials.
- Apply advanced manufacturing techniques (continuous flow chemistry for example) process development tools (EZ Max) and process analytical tools to develop efficient synthetic processes
- Work in a laboratory setting operating various analytical instruments performing routine analysis and new method development of energetic materials analyses.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry
- 10 years of relevant experience specifically with energetic materials synthesis characterization and analysis
- Demonstrated experience in multi-step synthesis and spectral methods to establish chemical structures
- Proficiency in spectral analysis operating continuous flow reactors conducting process development utilizing EZ max reactors
- Proven track record of synthesis analysis and problem solving
- US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance if required
