We are now looking for a Country Manager & Commercial Counsellor to head up the Tokyo office and to be part of growing our footprint and presence in Japan. Take the opportunity to work in a dynamic market and region contributing to developing the market and helping Swedish companies grow!

As Country Manager and Commercial Counsellor at Business Sweden you will have responsibility for sales and delivery and for developing the Business Sweden staff.

The purpose of this role is also to act as a focal point for our government supported initiatives and ensure that we maintain close collaboration with relevant actors in Sweden while at the same time staying on top of opportunities for business in Japan.

The role includes both strategic tactic and operational responsibilities such as:

  • Representing interests of Swedish enterprise and Business Sweden in Japan
  • Selling and marketing Business Swedens services to existing and potential clients in both Sweden and in the region including add-on sales in on-going projects
  • Maintaining continuous contact with existing and potential client enterprises and stakeholders
  • Managing planning and participating in the execution of consulting / internationalization assignments
  • Full Profit & Loss responsibility
  • Management of the office and employees inspiring and developing the team
  • Developing business processes and organisation
  • Operating from a global perspective to promote Swedish industry and companies
  • Work in a Team Sweden context with the transition from aid to broader cooperation coordinating export promotion initiatives with development cooperation.

You will have very close relations to the Swedish representations in the market. This means that you will be an official representative for Sweden acting in close collaboration with the Swedish Foreign Service and other organisations.

The role is based in Tokyo but you will be expected to work with our teams and clients around the world as required.

We assume that you have a keen interest in leadership issues and in developing as a leader in your role. We offer leadership training to provide you with the conditions to succeed in your leadership.
