Job Summary

A well-established and growing law firm in Bridgeport West Virginia is seeking an experienced Family Law Litigation Attorney to join its team. This role focuses on divorce child custody child support spousal support and contested family law litigation from intake through resolution.

The ideal candidate is court-ready client-focused and organized with the ability to manage a full caseload while providing compassionate professional legal representation.

Key Responsibilities

Handle family law cases including divorce custody child support and spousal support
Represent clients in hearings mediations settlement conferences and court proceedings
Draft pleadings motions discovery and legal correspondence
Develop and execute legal strategies from case intake to resolution
Maintain consistent professional client communication
Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff for efficient case management

Required Qualifications

Active West Virginia law license (or ability to obtain promptly)
2 years of experience managing family law litigation
Comfortable with court appearances and contested hearings
Strong legal research writing and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
Professional demeanor with empathy and discretion

Preferred Qualifications

Prior courtroom or trial experience in family law
Experience with contested custody or support cases
Mediation or negotiation experience
Knowledge of West Virginia family law statutes and procedures
Experience in a law firm with a billable caseload
