Other Conditions: The Department of Oceanography seeks a part-time instructor for the Spring 2026 semester. Non-tenure; temporary; part-time work as needed; and contingent upon student enrollment and availability of funding
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Teach one section of the undergraduate course OCN/GES 490 Communicating Research Results (2 credit hours)
2. Collaborate with the lead instructor to refine and maintain the course syllabus and instructional materials
3. Mentor and assist students in developing written oral and visual communication skills to present scientific research
4. Support the lead instructor in timely and consistent grading.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Masters degree and 5 years of working experience in Oceanography Communications or related fields.
2. Demonstrated experience communicating scientific research to technical and non-technical audiences.
3. Familiarity with scientific writing oral presentation and data visualization best practices.
4. Strong teaching or lecturer skills including the ability to provide constructive feedback on communication products

1. Doctorate degree
