Job Description
We are looking for an Underwriter for our Oslo based Offshore Renewables team. You will join a world-leading specialized team of experienced risk engineers underwriters and claims handlers. As an Offshore Renewables Underwriter you will have responsibility for risk assessment underwriting negotiations review of insurance contracts and servicing of Gards Offshore Renewables clients. The responsibility will include assessment of new construction projects as well as servicing existing operational windfarms and transmission assets. This role offers a unique opportunity to follow technological and commercial developments in the global offshore wind and wider renewables industry.
Working as an Underwriter in Gard you will be responsible for daily service delivery to selected insurance brokers and clients within your portfolio. You will also take part in marketing and sales of Gards broader range of insurance products.
Gards wider Energy team in Oslo provides insurance services to a global portfolio of clients within Oil and Gas and offshore renewable energy operations. The team has a broad base of clients from small niche companies to major international corporations.
This role is based in Oslo but collaborating with other Gard colleagues globally. Traveling will be required in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify attract and develop new business opportunities and actively market Energy products to clients brokers and prospects.
- Ensure that high levels of service are achieved and maintained
including prompt and accurate documentation. - Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and brokers to ensure retention and development of the portfolio.
- Continually monitor and analyze the performance of business within the portfolio highlighting and addressing areas of concern that require action.
- Ensure the correct assessment of risk in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.
- Share knowledge information and experience across the Underwriting team in the Energy team and in Gard globally.
Who are you:
- Have several years of relevant experience from the Offshore Renewable energy insurance market.
- Other relevant experience in commercial insurance or within Offshore Wind may be relevant.
- Have relevant technical legal or economical education.
- Are comfortable and eager to learn new tasks and data systems.
- You have a strong cultural awareness and understanding of cultural diversity.
- A structured organised and service minded approach to work and are comfortable with administrative tasks.
- A positive team player and able to contribute to team culture.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and are comfortable with contacting members clients and brokers as needed both on a one-to-one basis and in groups.
- Have a solution and result-oriented mindset.
- Have very good written and oral skills in English.
