Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bexley to assist with the appointment of a Procurement Assistant on a 12-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 13.90 - 18.16 per hour

Summary:

The Procurement Assistant role involves processing tender exercises using the Councils electronic tendering system preparing procurement documentation and providing administrative support within a busy and fast-paced local government environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Procurement Officer with the progression processing and recording of tenders and quotations
  • Support advertising and tendering processes using the Councils electronic tendering facility
  • Prepare procurement documentation correspondence and reports
  • Maintain and update the Councils in-house tendering system and Approved List of Contractors
  • Communicate with suppliers contractors and service providers regarding tender opportunities
  • Respond to enquiries from internal clients and external contractors and resolve issues where possible

Qualification:

  • Good standard of education

Essentials:

  • Proven experience working in an office or administrative environment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to plan prioritise and manage changing workloads effectively
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
