Job Summary:

The service tech is responsible for diagnosing repairing and resolving customer-reported product and installation issues to ensure all products meet the Companys standards for functionality safety appearance and overall quality. This role involves hands-on technical and mechanical work in the field provides professional customer service during service visits and collaborates closely with the Service Department to document issues order parts and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements of Job:

  • Provide on-site service technical support and customer assistance during field visits.

  • Diagnose installation errors mechanical failures and product performance issues.

  • Repair adjust or replace products components or parts to restore proper functionality.

  • Install configure troubleshoot and maintain company products and related equipment.

  • Communicate with the Service Department to identify needed parts and submit parts orders.

  • Produce timely accurate and detailed service reports documenting findings repairs and resolutions.

  • Maintain a professional courteous and service-driven demeanor when interacting with customers.

  • Meet scheduled appointments and respond to service requests in a timely manner.

  • Set up operate and troubleshoot tools machines and equipment in accordance with established procedures.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines company policies and quality standards.

  • Perform general cleanup of the work area including removal of debris to maintain a safe and clean customer environment.

  • Adhere to all fleet safety requirements including maintaining a clean and compliant company vehicle safe driving practices and the ability to remain insurable under Company policies throughout employment

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Experience in the home improvement industry preferred (windows doors carpentry or related trades).

  • Moderate understanding of general technical and mechanical job functions required.

  • Ability to anticipate diagnose and resolve technical and customer service issues.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficient time management and ability to manage multiple service appointments.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills for reporting documentation and communication.

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required.

Computer Operations:

To perform this job successfully an individual should have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications used in the performance of job duties.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this role may vary depending on the specific job duties and work environment. These may include but are not limited to:

  • Remaining in a stationary position (e.g. sitting or standing) for extended periods

  • Frequent movement including walking bending reaching or climbing stairs

  • Use of hands and fingers to operate computers tools or equipment

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 75 lbs depending on the role

  • Working indoors and/or outdoors in various environmental conditions

Job Classification:

Job is non-exempt and eligible for overtime payment for hours worked over 40 hours per work week consistent with the Fair Labor Standards Act and company policies. Wages and benefits shall be paid consistent with Renuity LLC wage and benefits policy.

Work Environment:

The work environment for this position will vary depending on the nature of the role and assigned duties. It may include one or more of the following settings:

  • Office Environment: Professional setting with standard office equipment such as computers phones and printers. Noise levels are typically low to moderate.

  • Retail or Store Environment: Fast-paced setting with frequent customer interactions. May involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting or moving of merchandise.

  • Warehouse Environment: Industrial setting with exposure to varying temperatures noise and moving equipment. May require standing walking and handling materials or machinery.

  • Call Center Environment: Shared workspace with frequent phone and computer use. Noise level may be moderate due to multiple conversations occurring simultaneously.

  • Field-based or Canvassing Environment: Outdoor work in various weather conditions. Requires walking standing and interacting with the public. Travel between locations may be required.
