Job Summary: The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions. This role focuses on safe medication administration patient monitoring and coordination of care to support recovery and clinical stability in an inpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Perform IV insertion phlebotomy and conscious sedation per protocol.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and escalate changes in condition appropriately.
- Document nursing care accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing Required
Certifications
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required (Queens only)
License
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required
- Primary Source Verification through NYSED Required
