Investment Team Associate Private Credit Direct Lending and Equity Investments

A leading large Southeastern law firm with a national practice is seeking an experienced Transactional Lawyer to join its Investment Team. This practice focuses on representing capital providers across a wide range of debt and equity investment activities offering attorneys a rare opportunity to work throughout the entire capital structure.

In this role you will advise lenders alternative investment vehicles and private equity investors on sophisticated transactions. Your work will span debt financings equity investments and control and growth equity transactions. You will also have the opportunity to represent portfolio companies in acquisitions sell-side transactions and financing matters providing exposure to both investor and operating company perspectives.

This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys complex transactional work values hands-on responsibility and wants to develop a well-rounded investment-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent lenders in secured and unsecured lending transactions
• Advise alternative investment vehicles on debt and equity investments
• Represent private equity fund investors in control and growth equity investments
• Work across the capital structure advising both debt and equity investors
• Represent portfolio companies in acquisitions dispositions and financing activities
• Draft negotiate and review transactional documents related to investment and financing matters
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on complex transactions

What Were Looking For:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Two to six years of transactional experience
• Experience in finance and/or corporate transactions is strongly preferred
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong interpersonal communication and client-service skills
• Eligibility for admission to the North Carolina Bar is preferred
