Commercial Real Estate Associate
A nationally respected law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate to join its growing Charleston office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate matters for developers investors lenders and institutional clients across multiple asset classes.
The associate will be an integral member of a dynamic and collaborative real estate team handling complex transactions from inception through closing. The position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys taking ownership of matters working directly with clients and contributing to high-value real estate projects involving acquisitions development financing and land use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions
- Advise on financings including real property secured lending transactions
- Negotiate and draft agreements involving common and preferred equity investments joint ventures and corporate governance matters
- Handle leasing matters and development-related agreements
- Counsel clients on zoning entitlement land use and development approvals
- Represent clients in zoning appeals property tax assessments and workforce housing agreements
- Provide legal guidance to developers investors and lenders throughout all phases of real estate transactions
What Were Looking For:
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial real estate law experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Strong ability to independently manage and close complex real estate transactions
- Deep experience in real estate finance zoning entitlement and land use
- Experience negotiating joint ventures and representing developers lenders and institutional clients preferred
- Excellent drafting negotiation and client-management skills
- Strong professional judgment and attention to detail
- Eligibility for South Carolina Bar admission preferred
