IMC is currently hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) for PRN general supervision of the Director of Rehab Services the Occupational Therapistwill evaluate patient needs develop appropriate treatment plans beresponsible for organizing and conducting medically necessary occupationaltherapy to restore function prevent disability decrease pain and promotehealing following disease injury or Occupational therapist will help the patient reach his/her maximumpotential and assume a place in society while learning to live within thelimits of his/her capabilities. Thiswill be done in a variety of settings including outpatient and inpatient. The therapist will need knowledge andcompetency to provide care based on physical psycho-social education leveland safety concerns for neonate infant toddler adolescent adult andgeriatric populations.
PRINCIPLE TASKS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ÂEvaluate patients
ÂTreat patients
ÂMonitor and assess patients
ÂSupervise delivery of treatment topatients
ÂReassess patients
ÂAssist director of rehab withdevelopment of policies and procedures
ÂAssist with scheduling of patients
ÂDocumentation of patient care
ÂAssist with daily operations ofoutpatient and inpatient rehab services
WORK HOURS: Scheduleswill fluctuate significantly based on patient volume and needs but normal hoursof delivery of occupational therapy services will be 8am â5pm Mon-Fri.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ÂMinimum of a baccalaureate degree inOccupational therapy from an accredited school.
valid Occupational TherapyLicense in Louisiana or a temporary permit granted by LSBME.
AND EXPERIENCE
ÂSuccessful completion of long termclinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accreditedOT school or one year of recent experience in inpatient outpatient orNursing home.
KNOWLEDGE
Âknowledge of OT delivery throughoutpatient lifespan neonate through geriatric.
ÂKnowledge of outpatient therapy servicesincluding delivery of modalities.
ÂKnowledge of acute OT for inpatientservices.
ÂKnowledge of home health OT services.
