About the job:

Based in The Hague Netherlands you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATOs Digital Endeavour. You will join The Joint Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Centre (JISRC). JISRCs vision is to assure information superiority for NATO. Its Mission is to deliver support and protect valued ISR capabilities expertise and services and to maximise operational effectiveness for NATO through a wide range of coherent JISR services supported by well-trained highly knowledgeable and uniquely experienced staff in four key JISR domains: Intelligence Applications Operational ISR Support Electronic Warfare/Surveillance Services and Geospatial/Meteorological/Oceanographic Information Services. JISRC is responsible for the full lifecycle of its services.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic ISR Engineer who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Follow agreed standards and apply appropriate techniques to elicit and document detailed system requirements for ISR sensors;

  • Participate in requirement design and specification reviews and uses this information to design or validate test plans and test condition;

  • Investigate/facilitate the use of big data management techniques automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities to enable NATO to efficiently process analyse and classify vast amounts of ISR Sensor data;

  • Support the development of Invitation for Bid by contributing to ISR Sensor Requirement Specifications and assessing Bidders proposals;

  • Support projects implementation by reviewing contractual technical documentation performing tests and validations.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • Bachelors degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a sensors related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidates particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCIA that is at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post;

  • Recent extensive experience (at least two years) in the ISR Sensor area within NATO or a comparable multinational or national position. This experience should include working with ISR Sensors such as Radars Electro Optical or Infrared (EO/IR) cameras Radiofrequency Passive Detection and Direction Finding Sensors;

  • At least two years of experience and ability to demonstrate familiarity with electromagnetics radiofrequencies and signal processing technologies and testing and verification of these systems;

  • Recent experience (within the past five years) in the development of policies standard operating procedures and/or capturing user requirements related to capability development;

  • Experience in software defined radio (SDR) technologies and knowledge of programming languages such as Python Matlab and C;

  • Fluency in English both written and spoken.
