you will be doing:
As the Eligibility Quality Control Technician 1 you will be part of the Quality Assessment section in the Division of Public Assistance (DPA). You will assist in completing federally mandated audits of DPA programs. These positions are responsible for reviewing program and policy practices to evaluate adherence to federal and state statutory and regulatory standards used by other Eligibility Technicians in determining eligibility for all DPA programs.

In this role youll help carry out important federally required audits of the Division of Public Assistance (DPA) programs. Your work will involve reviewing how eligibility decisions are made across various programs and ensuring that staff have followed both federal and state rules and policies. Youll play a key part in helping us maintain high standards and improve services for Alaskans.

Three years of experience as an Eligibility Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer;

OR

Three years performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements to diverse and complex situations; conducting complex investigations or interviews in order to obtain and verify information working with client customers in stressful situations.

Substitution:
Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology social work psychology counseling human services vocational rehabilitation developmental disabilities behavioral sciences business public administration or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours 1 month).

This position is currently undergoing review as part of the Public Assistance Field Services job class study and therefore both the title and the assigned pay range may be subject to change upon completion of the study.
