We currently have an opportunity for a Caretaker tojoin our Health and Education team and play a key role in delivering the Facilities Management (FM) service at the NZ Schools PPP3 Project.
Te Kōwhiringa The Opportunity
The NZ Schools PPP is a partnership between Amber Infrastructure the Ministry of Education and Downer Company focusing on enhancing educational environments across several schools in New Zealand. The project aims to deliver quality educational spaces efficiently ensuring value for money and effective service delivery with Downer handling various support services such as cleaning security and utilities management.
We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation and maintenance of our entire school facility. This role is vital in creating a safe clean and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors. This role will be looking after theTe Uho O Te Nikau Primary Schoolin Flatbush Auckland.
Oversee and complete routine and ad-hoc maintenance tasks across the school premises.
Deliver services in line with contractual obligations ensuring compliance with safety performance and quality standards.
Interpret and apply contract performance standards and timelines accurately.
Respond promptly and cooperatively to requests from the School Operator.
Support special school projects and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.

Background in basic repairs or a trade (e.g. carpentry trades assistant) and knowledge of cleaning practices.
Proven ability to deliver planned maintenance works and manage subcontractor performance.
Familiarity with cost-effective material use New Zealand Standards and OH&S regulations.
Strong understanding of contracts and ability to interpret performance standards.
Ability to work autonomously and cope well under pressure.
Strong communication skills and collaborative approach.
