Role Overview
The SAP Practice Leader is a senior strategic role responsible for the growth delivery and quality of the organizations SAP portfolio in Egypt. You will lead a cross-functional team of consultants and architects overseeing the full lifecycle of SAP solutionsfrom pre-sales and solutioning to implementation and support. You will act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (or external clients) and the technical delivery teams ensuring alignment with Egypts growing demand for digital transformation and S/4HANA migration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Practice Management
- Practice Growth: Define the strategic roadmap for the SAP practice focusing on emerging trends relevant to the MENA region (e.g. S/4HANA Public Cloud RISE with SAP SAP BTP).
- P&L Ownership: Manage the practices Profit & Loss including revenue forecasting resource utilization and margin optimization.
- Capability Building: Assess local market needs to build competencies in high-demand modules (e.g. SAP FICO MM SD and SuccessFactors) and emerging tech (AI Analytics).
2. Service Delivery & Execution
- Delivery Excellence: Oversee multiple concurrent projects ensuring they are delivered on time within budget and to quality standards.
- Governance: Establish best practices templates and methodologies (Activate Agile) to standardize delivery across Egyptian and regional client bases.
- Crisis Management: Serve as the ultimate escalation point for critical project issues specifically for high-profile clients in sectors like Manufacturing Real Estate and Public Sector.
3. Business Development & Pre-Sales (For Consulting Firms)
- Bid Management: Lead technical solutioning for RFPs (Requests for Proposals) estimating effort and presenting proposals to C-level executives.
- Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to clients helping them build business cases for migrating from ECC to S/4HANA.
- Partnership Management: Maintain active relationships with SAP Egypt representatives and partner ecosystem vendors.
4. Talent Leadership
- Team Management: Recruit mentor and retain a team of 20 SAP consultants (Functional Technical/ABAP Basis).
- Performance: Conduct performance appraisals and define career paths for junior and senior consultants.
- Training: Identify skill gaps and organize training on the latest SAP updates to maintain competitive advantage.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Experience: 15 years of total IT experience with at least 57 years in a leadership role managing SAP teams or programs.
- SAP Background: Deep hands-on background in at least one core SAP domain (e.g. Finance Supply Chain or Technology) before moving into management.
- Project Lifecycle: Proven experience managing at least 3 full-cycle SAP implementations (Greenfield or Brownfield) preferably within the MENA region.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Business Administration or related field. Masters/MBA is a plus.
Technical & Market Knowledge
- S/4HANA: Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of the move from ECC to S/4HANA.
- Cloud: Familiarity with SAP Cloud products (SuccessFactors Ariba SAC).
- Local Compliance: Knowledge of Egyptian e-Invoicing mandates and local localization requirements is highly desirable.
Soft Skills & Languages
- Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
- Leadership: Ability to manage hybrid teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of contracts SOWs (Statements of Work) and financial budgeting.
