6 month program that includes classroom curriculum and clinical training in the surgical setting.
Progress will be monitored and clinical training may be adjusted based on student progress
Clinical support from educators and highly-trained surgical tech preceptors.
Must be willing to commit to rigorous on-the-job training.
Be able to work all scheduled shifts (40 hours a week) for the duration of training.
Must maintain good attendance during the program.
Must earn a passing grade of 75% on all quizzes tests and clinical practicums.
Team members must commit to working for the organization within their scope of practice or qualifications based on the following criteria:
Participants will be required to maintain employment with UofL Health for the duration of the program.
Upon completion of the program the employee agrees to work in a full-time role as Surgical Tech for two (2) years at UofL Health
Required Qualifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
High school diploma or GED
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior patient care experience.
