NewsNation is looking for hardworking creative and proactive booking producer for a daily show. The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of newsmakers and political leaders. As a booking producer you will work with show producers to arrange guest appearances on the program to discuss the news of the day and or breaking news. You must have excellent organizational skills be an effective communicator be detail-oriented and work well under deadline pressure. The position is based at the networks offices in Washington DC or New York NY.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Pitch stories daily
Identify top tier guests cultivate relationships and arrange guest appearances on the show
Conduct pre-interviews and in-depth research on range of topics
Organize and produce elements for show segments
Monitor the latest news and locate people images and sound editorial information via Twitter Facebook Instagram Dataminr YouTube and other platforms
Find reliable guests/witnesses quickly during breaking news situations
Requirements & Skills:
A bachelors degree is preferred
Extensive list of contacts and ability to find and book high-profile guests as well as people at the center of major news stories
Flexibility with your hours as breaking news or major events warrant
Five or more years of experience in television
Strong editorial judgement
Knowledge of and passion for current events and politics
Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures while juggling long-term bookings
Experience with Lexis Nexis ENPS would be valuable
Salary Range: $75000 - $90000
