Job Summary/Overview
The Maintenance Worker performs plant and facility maintenance functions in accordance with company policies and procedures. This includes the maintenance and repair of building systems grounds HVAC plumbing electrical and safety systems. The role ensures that all facilities are safe functional and compliant with regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and/or repair plant equipment such as machinery power tools forklifts and factory vehicles as required or directed.
- Maintain and/or repair facility equipment such as HVAC plumbing and electrical systems as required or directed.
- Perform minor plant construction and/or renovation of plumbing electrical and mechanical systems as directed.
- Move and/or set up furniture or facility equipment as assigned.
- Maintain or repair building structures by patching cleaning or painting as required or directed.
- Perform building and grounds clean-up such as trash removal and snow/ice removal as required.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork records documents etc.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment.
- Schedule and assign preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Ensure timely response to equipment breakdowns and facility issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities inspections and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Respond to and resolve facility-related issues and emergencies.
- Train staff on safety procedures and proper equipment use.
Knowledge Skills Competencies and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC plumbing electrical and fire safety.
- Ability to read blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations.
- Work is performed in a commercial or industrial facility setting.
- May require lifting climbing and working in confined or elevated spaces.
- On-call availability for emergencies or off-hours maintenance needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance/similar experience with supervisory role is preferred.
