Other Conditions:Pending final position clearance. To begin approximately January 1 2026 or as soon thereafter as possible. Duties and Responsibilities:
*Assist the CPIS director/faculty/staff to coordinate the Pacific Islands Healthcare and Health Policy Landscape Assessment.
*Conduct qualitative research for the project under the guidance of the project leadership team.
*Contribute to the development of literature reviews technical reports and policy briefings.
*Participate in research travel for site visits to American Samoa and/or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).
*Support communications outreach and recruitment for project activities.
*Contribute to writing of literature review policy briefs system maps workshop materials and academic articles and presentations.
*Support and participate in project communication team meetings and regular stakeholder updates.
*Conduct interviews and stakeholder meetings with guidance of project leadership team.
*Synthesize and analyze data and prepare reports in consultation with project leadership.
*Assist in relevant administrative tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:
Full-time classified graduate student in topics related to Pacific Islands Studies Health Social Work or another relevant discipline in a Masters or Ph.D. program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa; Must meet University of Hawaii at Manoa Office of Graduate Education Graduate Assistant Eligibility requirements.
Demonstrated background in contemporary issues and concerns specific to the Pacific Islands region and familiarity with Pacific Islander communities in and beyond Hawaii.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write reports or similar documents.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of people and organizations including working independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Word Excel PowerPoint & relevant software.
Ability to travel to American Samoa and/or CNMI for research data collection.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working on grant-funded research and stakeholder-driven projects;
Demonstrated ability to coordinate work timelines and outcomes with multiple collaborators and project stakeholders.
Competency in any Pacific language in particular Chamorro or Samoan.
Advanced knowledge and utilization of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from various sources and clearly present them verbally and in writing to a variety of sources.
