The North Central Texas Economic Development District (NCTEDD) of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking an Economic Development Coordinator.
This position is responsible for managing projects programs and initiatives of the Economic Development division with an emphasis on leading the Texas Regional Broadband Program (TRBP) efforts which are important to regional economic development. TRBP is a 3-year digital access improvement project aimed at enhancing local capacity expanding internet access improving technology adoption and boosting digital skills in our region. This position manages project planning stakeholder collaboration resource mapping and cataloging and tracking and reporting metrics. This role will lead all efforts to communicate with and engage the region to collect feedback develop digital opportunity strategies with performance metrics and provide monthly progress reports.
In addition this position will serve as a coordinator to the North Central Texas Economic Development District (NCTEDD) in the implementation of plans projects programs initiatives and communications that support economic development for local governments school districts higher education organizations nonprofits businesses and other regional organizations. Other duties may include producing written correspondence charts and reports for projects and providing professional support to the assigned department or committee. This position performs complex professional administrative and policy analysis work.
Other responsibilities include:
- Coordinates plans and evaluates projects related to broadband and economic development.
- Leads and manages NCTCOGs participation in the statewide Regional Digital Access Specialist (RDAS) initiative by coordinating development refinement and submission of regional digital opportunity strategies goals and implementation activities in alignment with Texas Area Regional Council (TARC) and Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) Broadband Development Office requirements.
- Coordinates and executes regional stakeholder outreach and engagement activitiesincluding convenings site visits and collaboration with local governments community organizations and anchor institutionsto gather input support digital inclusion efforts and advance regional broadband access adoption and digital literacy goals. Collects and organizes related data and resources and ensures timely submission of all required RDAS reports engagement documentation and performance updates to maintain program compliance.
- Oversees and manages project quality to ensure that project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications and identifies potential project risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid them. Monitors and manages project costs to ensure that the project is completed within budget.
- Develops collects organizes analyzes and/or prepares materials to disseminate program information throughout the region. Coordinates communication development and dissemination through coordination with management and stakeholders. Coordinates project activities with and gathers feedback from internal stakeholders other agencies governmental jurisdictions community members and private sector partners. Compiles and distributes project information project status reports and project budget expenditures.
- Develops criteria for evaluating programs proposals and other pertinent information related to project assignments. May initiate projects obtain authorization and commitment and demonstrate business need and project feasibility.
- Works in line with the Economic Development divisions vision and goals for the 16-county region through work on division programs projects initiatives and goals. Works on behalf of the federal Economic Development Administration (EDA) to support a locally based regionally driven economic development planning process that leverages the involvement of the public private and non-profit sectors to establish a strategic blueprint for regional collaboration and success. This includes the writing and updating of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the 16-county NCTEDD region in partnership with regional stakeholders.
- Funding Opportunities: Assists and provides high-level technical assistance local governments agencies school districts higher education organizations nonprofits businesses and other regional organizations in the development writing researching and review of EDA grant applications to fund economic development projects for the addition to EDA grants works to assist local partners in securing funding through other federal and state agencies when possible.
- Communications and outreach: Communicates with regional federal state local governments agencies school districts higher education organizations nonprofits businesses and other regional organizations to ensure public outreach of economic development information and resources; makes presentations; drafts reports; creates funding guides.
- Provide technical assistance to the regions economic development organizations municipalities and counties in their efforts advance economic projects. Performs an array of technical training research planning policy and administrative activities in support of economic development. Manages data and research tools such as Labor Market Analysis tools U. S. Census. Attends economic development trainings and webinars to stay informed on relevant topics and tools.

Required Education & Experience:
- A Bachelors degree or 7 years equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Masters degree in Public Administration Financial Management or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in direct field of business management or related field.
- Preference for an individual with 5 years of public sector experience; experience in economic development preferred.
Compensation:
- FLSA: Exempt
- Starting Salary: $63658.00 - $93000.00 depending on skills qualifications and experience.
Officing:
- This position is in-office 4 days per week.

NCTCOG contributes twelve percent (12%) of permanent full-time employees gross salaries. Participating employees contribute six percent (6%) of gross salary. An employee becomes forty percent (40%) vested in NCTCOGs contributions after three full years of employment. An additional fifteen percent 15%) is vested for each additional year of employment. An employee becomes fully vested after seven years of employment.
