Education required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university preferably in Chemical Engineering or Pharmaceutical Engineering
Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a full-time credit-bearing internship
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

What will you do
As a manufacturing engineer intern you will work alongside experienced engineers to implement and optimize manufacturing processes in the plant improving product yield and reducing waste in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs)
You will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of manufacturing technologies (such as traditional batch processes as well as the latest best-in-class continuous manufacturing technology) and gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving
What will you learn
Implementing and optimizing the production of APIs
Assist Engineers in day-to-day production activities via troubleshooting and problem-solving (e.g. Investigation of process anomalies with the use of technologies such as Aspen Process Explorer to analyse process trends and on-site survey)
Close collaboration with the operations technicians and other departments including technical development or quality team
Learning Good Manufacturing Practices and adopting Good Documentation Practices with Data Integrity
Leading improvement initiatives with the usage of digital data and analytics tools with the use of PowerBI and other applications (e.g. Process/Alarms Dashboards MTELL)
Developing solutions to achieve GSK Site sustainability goals (e.g. Optimizing or finding alternatives to reduce energy or material waste)
What are we looking for
individual who is interested in learning more about improvement projects on batch and continuous manufacturing processes
Strong written and oral communications skills
Excellent English proficiency
A keen interest in production
Meticulous organized and dedicated
Exposure to new cutting edge technology as well as improve technical skills such as root cause analysis lean tools data analysis and presentation skills.
Apply his/her knowledge of engineering and learn soft skills in engaging different stake holders to deliver a project.
