We are looking for a passionate BBYO Genesis Fellow to join our team and make a difference. As a BBYO Genesis Fellow youll play a pivotal role in the success of BBYO through a close partnership with the Nashville JCC serving in a dual-capacity role that includes both BBYO and Nashville JCC staff responsibilities working closely with teens in the Delta Region to create strong programs develop leadership skills and make their chapters great for Jewish teens. Alongside your teammates youll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens our community and the world.
This position is a collaborative role between BBYO and the Nashville JCC. The Genesis Fellow will serve as a BBYO staff member while also functioning as part of the Nashville JCC professional team supporting JCC-led teen engagement signature programs and community-wide initiatives. This role requires strong collaboration flexibility and the ability to represent both organizations in the community.
SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF
As a BBYO Genesis Fellow a typical day will include:
- Working directly with teens (grades 8 to 12) To create impactful fun and dynamic programs in their local chapters.
- Monitoring team leaders and delivering leadership training
- Working with teens to attract and retain members to build and grow chapters
- Guiding teams and establishing an annual calendar for each chapter that drives engagement and recruitment through meaningful programming.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key volunteers partners parents and stakeholders in the community.
- Recruiting new members to join BBYO and to attend summer programs.
- Facilitating the planning process alongside team leaderships and colleagues for regional events including overnight conventions.
- Working alongside colleagues to bring new innovative and fun ideas to the community.
- Assisting with mass communication tools including but not limited to newsletters social media and phone follow-ups.
- Tracking regional data such as membership prospects and program logistics
- Empower and inspire staff teens volunteers and advisors through your mentorship coaching and training
- Employees primary responsibility in the summer will be to manage the Nashville JCC Maccabi Games program: outreach promotion recruitment management of the coach/assistant delegation head training and attending the games and delegation head meetings as organized by JCCA
- As part of their role as Nashville JCC staff the Genesis Fellow will also be responsible for: administration of the Kehillah Award given each year to an outstanding Jewish teen. Participation in other JCC community-wide programming: Kosher Nashville Hot Chicken Fest Hanukkah Fest Jewish Food Festival
ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR MAKING A LASTING IMPACT
Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. Additionally as a BBYO Genesis Fellow these skills are key to success:
Experience: 1-3 years of work experience
Education: A bachelors degree or higher
Abilities:
- Experience with youth or teens is preferred
- Must reside in Nashville TN area
- Attend all regional conventions and major events as well as JCC community events BBYOs staff conference and staff BBYOs International Convention each year.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the region and to organization-wide events
- Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends) when teens are available
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
- To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law.

BBYO GENESIS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The BBYO Genesis Fellowship is a two-year program. This role begins upon hire and would join the Genesis Fellowship Class of 2028 which would kick off in August 2026 and end June 30 2028 with the potential for permanent roles upon completion.
