California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) is a preeminent center of intellectual and cultural activity in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will provide responsible and professional leadership in managing the day-to-day operational needs of the department including supervision of support staff scheduling courses evaluating and mentoring faculty facilitating conflict resolution fiscal management and allocating facilities and equipment for teaching research and service activities. Within the Department the Chair works closely with an Associate Chair on scheduling and curriculum matters. The Chair will also represent the Department and College with on- and off-campus constituencies and maintain positive public relations with these addition the Chair is encouraged to develop and participate in activities that support the universitys strategic plan. This plan emphasizes: a) student success; b) faculty and staff success; c) stewarding resources; d) community engagement and partnerships; and e) enhancing the campus identity.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty staff and students across a wide range of position includes responsibilities throughout summer and occasionally at weekend and evening events. The Chair may perform other duties as needed to support departmental and institutional goals.

Evidence of scholarly activity publication and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Psychology is in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and offers a B.A. in General Psychology with two concentrations - Biological Psychology and Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Additionally the department offers an M.A. program in Psychological Science as well as M.S. programs in Clinical/Counseling and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. The Department has 25 full-time tenure track faculty members four full-time lecturers and approximately 1600 undergraduate majors and 60 graduate majors.
